Our Story
Vision + Goals
Our vision is to create a society where every individual thrives and contributes to a brighter future. We envision a world where our unsheltered neighbors are not just acknowledged and supported, but are provided with safe and stable housing, fostering a sense of dignity and belonging. Alongside this, we aspire to transform the educational landscape by championing trades programs within our high schools. Through strategic funding and partnerships, we aim to equip the next generation with practical skills, enabling them to pursue meaningful and sustainable careers.
By embracing innovation and collaboration, our vision is to empower our communities to flourish, fostering a society where compassion, education, and opportunity intersect to create a harmonious and prosperous future for all.
Meet our founder
EsiSonia’s journey in supporting the homeless community began during her teenage years at her church, which was located next to a seasonal women’s shelter. She and her siblings dedicated much of their youth to volunteering—preparing meals and participating in fundraisers.
This early involvement fostered a deep connection with the homeless community, which has remained close to her heart. Years later, after a family member experienced homelessness due to mental health challenges, the Sotoglo family recognized the need to do more. Their focus expanded from assisting a loved one to supporting those in need across the community, leading to the founding of CORE.
In addition to founding The CORE Foundation, EsiSonia serves as a Rapid Rehousing Case Manager at InterFaith Works, where she is dedicated to supporting individuals who are currently or have previously experienced homelessness. In her role, she manages a caseload of 10 to 15 clients transitioning from homelessness to stable living conditions. Her primary focus is to assist them in maintaining their housing and adapting to life with consistent, secure shelter.
EsiSonia is a passionate advocate for social change, drawing inspiration from the transformative power of compassion in altering lives and attitudes. Education is a cornerstone of her work, as she holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Theology. She is also pursuing a doctorate in Theology, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning. EsiSonia continuously seeks opportunities for personal, spiritual, and professional growth, embodying the role of a lifelong student.
